Community arts, also sometimes known as &#8220;dialogical art&#8221;, &#8220;community-engaged&#8221;, or &#8220;community based art&#8221;, refers to artistic activistiy based in a community setting. Work with a variety of media to interact or ignite dialogue within the Waukesha community.\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 Advocacy ACAP sees self- and systems-advocacy as an important part of community engagement. We offer a variety of classes to help our members learn about themselves and how to create the lives they want. Reap the benefits of having male friendships. Be with and hangout with all of your &#8220;bro&#8221; friends. Among them is our commitment to volunteerism. We give more than 1000 hours of volunteer service to area businesses, organizations, and groups every year. Here is some of what we offer: Berkshire Shopping&#8211; Volunteer your time by grocery-shopping for Berkshire on Kensington\u2019s in-house grocery store. Somebody\u2019s got to keep the shelves stocked! Use an IPAD to follow along with the grocery list, using words and photos to meet a variety of people\u2019s needs. Hartland Hospice&#8211; Be a companion and provide a listening ear, solace and friendship to people in hospice-care. *Training and vaccinations required. Meals on Wheels&#8211; Be a part of ACAP\u2019s ambassadors of good cheer by delivering meals to people in need. Pick-up meal baskets, read route lists, sort individual meals, and deliver to people as you navigate around Waukesha. Utilize assistive tech to meet, greet and more. \u00a0 CARE&#8211; Volunteer your time to help friends of flight at the Center for Avian Rehab and Education, Inc.\u00a0 You will be working in close proximity to birds, which can be very loud, so note any sound sensitivity. Birds like to talk, so use your communication devices -or your own speaking-voices- to converse while you work! \u00a0 \u00a0 Education &amp; Enrichment The Amazing Race- Get ready, get set, and let\u2019s go on an amazing race! Ride the city bus as you navigate throughout the community, using assistive technology, maps, directions, photos and other clues to help your team solve weekly challenges. Women Empowered- As you express yourself through a variety of forms and shared-experiences, women who participate in this group can become examples of self-realized and self-valued women, despite disability in their lives. LifeStriders\u2013 Lifestriders is Waukesha\u2019s own site for Equine-Assisted Therapy. Duties may include cleaning horse stalls, sweeping floors, guiding and grooming horses, and other outdoor maintenance.*Transportation will need to be to ACAP by\u00a08:45AM. *Clothing must be suitable for outdoor work. *Must demonstrate comfort\/ etiquette toward\/around horses Eco Project-\u00a0Do you want to learn how to REDUCE, REUSE, and RECYCLE?
